Good Hope Awards- The Great Unveiling Part VII

Continuing with the Unveiling of the Good Hope Awards recipients, today I would like to introduce you to a very important company who conducted our audit last year pro bono.

RAFFA - Pro Bono Business Partner - RAFFA is an accounting firm that utilizes a holistic approach to "help organizations build capacity and sustain excellence in all areas of their operation." Bread for the City got to experience this approach first hand when RAFFA offered to do our FY07 audit pro bono. (Not-for-profit organizations must undergo an independent audit each year to ensure that we are abiding by all of the rules and regulations necessary to maintain our 501(c)3 status.) With RAFFA's assistance we were able to report a clean audit to the IRS, ensure that all of our records were in proper order, and save $20,000--the going rate for a not-for-profit audit.

RAFFA went above and beyond in their willingness to provide this service for us free of charge and we are so very grateful. For their support in this endeavor, and for their support in our organization, we are pleased to honor them with the 2008 Pro Bono Business Partner award at this year's Good Hope Awards.

All recipients will be honored at this year's Good Hope Awards, Bread for the City's annual volunteer recognition breakfast, on October 7th at 8:30 am at the Capital Hilton.
